How to select the proper air compressor for ERW tube mill
It is very important to select the corrected model air compressor for the erw tube mill .
How to select corrected air compressor for the erw tube mills a know how .
fist all ,we will calculate the total amount of compressed air as per the number and model of air cylinder and then , we will reserve a 20% margin as per the calculated result.
For example ,One welded tube mill needs 3 m³/min compressed air as per the calculated result . we should select a air compressor with capacity 3.6m³/min, which is 18.5KW air compressor .
However , for sake of convenience ,a few engineers of tube mill do not like to calculate the amount of compressed that a erw tube mill needs . they typically confirm the amount of compressed air as per their experience .sometimes, this result in mistake in the air compressor model . so confirming the air compressor model by experience is not recommended .
Now please allowed me share a failed case
Our ERW114 erw tube mill that is fitted with zinc spraying machine, automatic stacking machine .
Because our engineer did not calculate the exactly amount of compressed air ,we provided a 7.5KW air compressor with capacity1.2m³/min ,which is far from meeting the air consumption of the erw tube mill ,this result in malfunction of air compressor and downtime of erw tube mill
Finally, we have to provide a 22 Kw air compressor with capacity 3.6m³/min to replace the old one .
All in all . as a engineer , we have to calculate the amount of compressed air that each equipment of erw tube mill demands. and select the corrected air compressor .
